CUworld
Support FAQs
What
are pop-up blockers, and how do they effect my experience on CUworld?
Popup blockers are something you may have installed on your
computer to stop those annoying popup advertising ads from coming up
when your browsing the Internet. This can prevent CUworld Users
from entering a private room or stop you from joining a video chat
altogether. To fix this problem or just find out more read this
article on our Forum.

Does CUworld work with Zone Alarm
Pro?
For those using ZoneAlarm Pro and having trouble using the site, make
sure you have popups disabled. The free version doesn't block
popups, but the paid version does.
How do I get support for my older version of CUseeMe?
Support for versions 1x, 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x is
handled exclusively by First Virtual Communications (FVC).
FVC is the developer of the CUseeMe technology, and
the original distributor of the software.
Assistance can be found here. There
are a few reflectors (video-enabled servers) that support the older
versions of the software. Simply do a search with your favorite
search engine to find one. Of course, we believe the advances in
the technology are worth the upgrade. If you are
ready to upgrade, and experience the New CUworld, you can get started
right here.
Can I use my older version of CUseeMe with CUworld?
In order to take full advantage of the capabilities
offered by the newest generation of the CUseeMe technology, we are sorry
to say that CUworld can no longer support CUseeMe versions 1.x, 2.x, 3.x,
4.x (Pro), or the Cornell version. We realize this
will be a disappointment to many people, but we believe the advances in
the technology are worth the upgrade. If you are
ready to upgrade, and experience the New CUworld, you can get started
right here.
Does CUseeMe work with
Macintosh
We regret to inform you that the current generation of CUseeMe
software and CUworld support only Windows platforms (versions 98SE,
2000, and XP). At this time, there are no development plans for
CUworld.com to support the older Macintosh versions of CUseeMe.
The Macintosh version of the software has been marked as "End of
Life" by the developers at FVC (www.fvc.com),
and we are unaware of any plans to re-release the older version
CUseeMe for the Macintosh, or to update the software for newer
Macintoshes.
If you are using any Mac version of CUseeMe, and you would like to
continue, we recommend you do a search online for CUseeMe Reflector
Sites.
For support questions relating to existing Macintosh versions of the
software, on-line support can be found at http://support.fvc.com/eng/contact/request_cuseeme.asp
The last Macintosh supported version of CUseeMe was version 3.1.
